Grisham Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award

At the Alabama-Mississippi Sociological Association's annual meeting in Montgomery, Alabama, on February 22 and 23, 2007, Dr. Grisham was awarded the organization's Lifetime Achievement Award. This award has only been bestowed on two other members in it's forty-year history. The plaque states, "Vaughn L. Grisham In Recognition Of Career Accomplishments And For Bringing Dignity To The Profession Of Sociology And Recognition To The ASMA. 2007"

Dr. Grisham, with humility accepted the award, and proudly acknowledged that he was one of only two faculty persons who attended the first meeting of the organization in 1967. In addition, he challenged the attendees, both faculty and students, to carry on in the tradition established over the years for excellent scholarship and working together.
